A recent survey of 930 business CEOs, CFOs and other senior-level certified professional accountants found that most respondents support a repeal of the Affordable Care Act, according to the American Institute of CPAs.
The survey was conducted in early February and polled executive-level CPAs about their thoughts concerning the Obama-era health care law. Sixty-one percent of respondents said they want to see the law repealed and replaced. Ten percent said they wanted the law repealed with no replacement.
At the same time, 80 percent of respondents said they expected additional expense for their employer-provider health care plans this year no matter what happens to the ACA. A similar percentage said they expected an increase next year as well.
Business executives said the most popular strategies for containing health care costs are higher deductibles for employees (65 percent), higher co-pays (49 percent) and employer-sponsored wellness programs (41 percent).
Those three items also top the list for companies contemplating new cost-containment strategies in the coming year. Other strategies include a push toward health savings accounts and a shift to self-insurance pools. http://bit.ly/2moRuif
